The fastest-growing full-service, privately owned ad agency in the country is a Phoenix shop better known for one of its campaigns than for its name.
The Riester Corporation ranked 284th in Inc.'s special October issue listing the "Inc. 500." The issue ranks the companies and chief executives who are changing the face of American business. Riester joins firms such as Microsoft, Timberland and Oracle in the rankings.
Riester is best known for its anti-smoking ad campaign for the Arizona Department of Health Services.
The shop's overall sales jumped from $922,000 in 1992 to $9.6 million in 1996, according to the report. Agency president Tim Riester attributed the growth to the success of the shop's clients.
