NEW YORK Matt Seiler, an evp at Omnicom Group, has been named president of PHD USA, a new post at the Omnicom-owned media agency, the company said.

Seiler, 42, most recently oversaw the integration of PepsiCo business into various Omnicom shops.

He will now report to Steve Grubbs, CEO of PHD North America. Prior to joining Omincom in 2001, Seiler served as director of strategic planning at the company's BBDO in New York, where he worked from 1996-2000. In this role, he provided strategic input and leadership for all of the agency's brands. He also ran the global Frito-Lay business. He left BBDO to join independent shop Wieden + Kennedy as managing director of its New York office.

In his new role, Seiler will oversee PHD's operations in New York, as well as its offices in Chicago, St. Louis and San Francisco. He starts on Sept. 17.

"I met Matt two years ago and was instantly impressed with his ability to get what we do as well as to recognize the opportunity for our company to move into the area of communications planning," said David Pattison, worldwide CEO of PHD.
