Yaffe Campaign Backs Drugstores’ Expansion Into Food Retailing
DETROIT–While other retailers ready back-to-school programs, Phar-Mor is going back to the drawing board with a bold repositioning of its retail concept.
The drugstore chain’s retooling, including the expansion of its product mix to include fresh, frozen and refrigerated foods, is getting ad support this month from Yaffe & Co., Southfield, Mich.
Phar-Mor’s makeover effort, dubbed “The Big Change” campaign, will run through mid-September. It includes radio, TV, print and direct mail, said Michael Morin, executive vice president at Yaffe, agency of record for the Youngstown, Ohio-based discount retailer.
