LOS ANGELES Petsmart has named four finalists in the review for the creative portion of its estimated $30 million ad account, according to Select Resources International, the consultancy leading the search.
They are: Omnicom Group's DDB in San Francisco; Publicis Groupe's Leo Burnett in Chicago and Publicis in Dallas; and WPP Group's J. Walter Thompson in Chicago, according to SRI in Santa Monica, Calif.
The shops that were cut from the review were Publicis' Publicis & Hal Riney in San Francisco and independent davidandgoliath in Los Angeles.
The Phoenix-based pet supply retailer has been handling creative in-house since splitting with independent shop Doner in Southfield, Mich., in September 2002. WPP's Mediaedge:cia in Chicago handles media, which is not up for grabs.
Creative presentations are expected to take place May 19-20 with a decision by the end of June.
