NEW YORK People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said it plans to protest the use of exotic animals in advertising at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes, France, on Wednesday and Thursday.

The animal-rights group will place a nude protester in a cage, painted like a tiger, at the entrance of the festival’s main hall, Palais de Festivals, holding a sign reading “Wild Animals Don’t Belong in Ads.”

“We decided to protest at the Cannes Festival this year because it’s the 50th jubilee, so it will be getting a lot of attention,” said PETA representative Michael McGraw.
