ATLANTA Natalie White Perkins has joined Blattner Brunner as chief marketing officer, a new position at the Pittsburgh-based independent shop.

Perkins, 45, will be responsible for marketing the shop's offices in Pittsburgh, Atlanta and Washington, D.C. Perkins said she plans to "do for our agency what we do for our clients." She reports to Michael Brunner, the shop's CEO.

"Blattner Brunner stands out among the agencies I know in that they treat their own brand just as important as their clients' brands," Perkins said.

Brunner said he added the position following the expansion of the shop to Washington and Atlanta during the past year.

"Clearly, with our newly acquired offices, the moment was ripe for us to have a single brand steward," he said. "I don't want three agencies. I want one agency, marketing itself nationally."

Before joining Blattner Brunner, Perkins operated White Perkins Consulting in Raleigh, N.C., for three years. She advised about 20 ad agencies nationwide on marketing and new business issues.

Prior to that, she was president of Trone Advertising in High Point, N.C. During her 14 years at that independent shop, it grew from 30 to 150 employees and added an office in Atlanta.

Perkins, officially based in Atlanta, will maintain an office in each of Blattner Brunner's three locations.

The agency's clients include AARP, Del Monte, Zippo, Dow Chemical and Time Warner Cable.
