CHICAGO Periscope has hired Laura Mylan to form and head up a public relations practice at the $100 million agency.

Greg Kurowski, president of the Minneapolis shop, said the agency had been looking to develop a full-fledged public relations practice for more than two years. "We've finally found the right mix of experience and leadership in Laura Mylan," he said.

Mylan was previously a vice president at Maccabee Group Public Relations in Minneapolis. Prior to working there, she led media relations for the City of St. Paul's department of planning and economic development.

Periscope clients include the American Public Transportation Association and Arctic Cat.
