Andy Madorsky wasn’t the only ad executive to call Mark Mears after Mears joined Blimpie International as CMO in January.

But Madorsky, ecd of Grant Jacoby in Chicago, may have the longest-standing relationship with Mears, having played basketball with him while classmates at Northwestern in the mid-1980s. More substantially, Mears, who recently assigned Blimpie’s creative account to Grant Jacoby (part of The Tungsten Group), said he admired Madorsky’s work for Sears, Roebuck and Co., while at WPP Group’s Ogilvy & Mather, here.
