BOSTON Paris 2012, the organization behind that city's bid to host the 2012 Olympics, has selected Interpublic Group's Weber Shandwick for a global public relations campaign.
"We are very pleased and proud to have been selected to promote a bid city in whose success we so strongly believe," said Jack Leslie, chairman of Weber Shandwick in New York. "We are thrilled to begin working on this exciting opportunity."
Weber Shandwick won the business following a review involving seven undisclosed agencies. The appointment marks the first time Paris has hired a PR firm to support its bid.
An international team based in Weber Shandwick's Paris office will lead the account.
