Palm Pilots and other handheld computing devices have been praised for making life easier for the average citizen, offering bus routes, weather reports, restaurant reviews and more in just a few clicks.

But one agency wants to promote the devices to wealthy executives and Silicon Valley programmers.

AKQA recently launched a national print campaign for marquee client Palm targeting CEOs and major players at Fortune 1000 companies. The ads will run in The Wall Street Journal, Business Week and other business publications.

Client and agency officials said the initial response has been extremely positive, adding that “traffic to Palm’s enterprise Web site tripled in the campaign’s first week.”
