NEW YORK Troy Young, Organic's chief experience architect, has left the agency to join VideoEgg, a Silicon Valley startup focused on user-generated video.
Young, who was at Organic for six years, worked on accounts such as DaimlerChrysler and 20th Century Fox.
He becomes chief marketing officer at year-old VideoEgg, which has developed software used by social networks and blogs.
In his new role, Young will work on developing an advertising platform for the company. He is based at VideoEgg's San Francisco headquarters.
"I'm looking forward to participating in this media transformation," Young said. "We're at a real inflection point in the media world and it was time to get in."
Young is the latest high-level departure from Organic. Heidi Browning, its media chief, left the Omnicom Group shop in November, taking a post at Fox Interactive Media. Colleen DeCourcy, the shop's chief creative officer, departed this summer for WPP Group's JWT, where she is now chief experience officer.
In a statement, agency CEO Mark Kingdon said, "Troy has been a key contributor to the success of Organic and has helped us to become the company we are today."
James Kim, vice president of strategy, and Chad Stoller, executive director of emerging platforms, will take over some of Young's duties at the shop.
