New York City shows how it's still a major tourist destination in a new holiday-themed campaign by Korey Kay & Partners.
The effort, an initiative of The Association for a Better New York, in partnership with The Metropolitan Transpor tation Authority, NYC & Co. and the New York State Division of Tourism, broke earlier this month. It in cludes print and outdoor.
One ad features a shot of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center and the line, "Open for the holidays." The ad provides phone numbers and Web addresses, such as www.nycvisit.com, that give details on special offers and other info.
Allen Kay, chairman of the New York shop, noted the work is meant to reassure consumers that the Big Apple is still open to visitors. "A lot of people out of town kind of think that we went into hibernation, and it's not at all the case," he said.
The work, which all carries the "Open for the holidays" theme, includes subway and railroad platform posters. Print is running in pubs such as Modern Maturity; dioramas are on display in airports in Philadelphia and Boston, among others. The shop also broke a TV spot with similar creative for the MTA.
