DETROIT General Motors will offer a new navigation program via OnStar on select Cadillac, GMC, Buick and Saab vehicles by the end of the year.

The technology, called OnStar Web Destination Entry, is part of a new partnership between GM and the popular MapQuest Web site.

With it, users can plot their drive with directions through MapQuest, which will transmit the directions to OnStar’s turn-by-turn navigation system.

The service will be standard the first year of an OnStar subscription for some Buick, Cadillac, GMC and Saab vehicles, and $299 a year after that.
