Ebrary Inc., Mountain View, Calif., has launched a test version of its online-library service, available as a co-branded Web site with Pearson PLC’s Learning Network.

The beta site allows users to search, browse and read 301 business and economics books and reports without charge and without paying a membership or subscription fee. Payment is required, however, to print or copy information.

Christopher Warnock, ebrary’s chief executive officer, said the closely held company will add resources to this online library “on a regular basis” and will soon start bringing other collections online with other partners, although he said there’s no “strict timeline” for these launches.
