NEW YORK Omnicom Media Group has appointed Thomas Rocco to the new position of managing director of sales for the company's U.S. strategic business units.
Rocco is responsible for developing new business opportunities and fostering existing sales and marketing partnerships for OMG companies. He joins from TNS Media Intelligence, a provider of strategic advertising and marketing information, where he held the position of evp, sales and marketing. Prior to TNS, Rocco was president of CTN Media Group, a cable/satellite network delivered to over 800 colleges across the U.S.
Rocco is based in New York and reports to Jill Botway, president of OMG's U.S. strategic business units, which include specialized client service companies in businesses such as direct, search and in-store media.
"Having worked closely with Omnicom Media Group from the other side, Tom is already quite familiar with the management and operations within the
organization," said Botway. "We're confident that he will be a strong addition to the company, helping to continue our momentum of growth and business development."
Rocco's experience also spans the broadcast side of the industry, having held management positions at Discovery Communications, NBC, WNYW (Fox Television) and ABC Radio.
