CHICAGO–Oldsmobile’s review for a major 2001 campaign will continue even though General Motors says it will discontinue the brand in the next few years, said Randall Tallerico, ad manager for the automaker.

Olds is considering ideas from lead agency Leo Burnett, here; the automaker’s African American shop, E. Morris Communications, also in Chicago; and McCann-Erickson, Troy, Mich.

Talerico declined to discuss the effect of GM’s decision on spending, which last year topped $300 million.

Olds is currently testing ideas from the three shops.
