NEW YORK Ogilvy & Mather has hired Donna Pedro, a senior consultant at the FutureWork Institute, in the new role of chief diversity officer.

Pedro will lead the WPP Group shop’s efforts to attract, retain and promote minorities. Ogilvy is among 16 agencies that in September signed agreements with the New York City Human Rights Commission that call for greater minority representation in the industry.

The hire comes three weeks after Ogilvy revealed the creation of a diversity advisory board led by North American co-CEO Bill Gray.
