NEW YORK Ogilvy has brought on Adam Lau as creative director to work on its IBM business.

Lau, 39, arrives at the WPP Group agency from independent AKQA, where he worked on Microsoft, Nike, Palm and other accounts.

At Ogilvy, Lau will partner with Greg Kaplan and work at the agency’s New York headquarters. He reports to Jan Leth, co-chief creative officer of Ogilvy in New York.

“Hiring Adam was a big coup for Ogilvy,” Leth said in a statement.
