There are lots of things for employees to feel dissatisfied about at work, but a lack of communication does not seem to be one of them. A survey of full- and part-time workers reported in the April edition of WirthlinWorldwide’s The Wirthlin Report detects relatively little disgruntlement on that score. Indeed, the proportion of workers declaring themselves “very satisfied” with internal communications is up from 47 percent in 2002 and 37 percent in 2001. Does this mean companies are getting better at keeping the hired hands well informed? Wirthlin’s report suggests that it does, citing “an evolving corporate focus on the effectiveness of internal communications.”
