NEW YORK Crispin Porter + Bogusky and Leo Burnett top the list of contenders for the Outdoor Advertising Association of America's annual Obie Awards with four nominations each.
Thirty-nine shops received nominations. CP+B in Miami had four, for campaigns on behalf of BCBS of Minnesota, Borders, FX Network and Mini. Leo Burnett, based in Chicago, also had four, for its campaigns for Altoids, Disneyland, McDonald's and the U.S. Army.
Taxi in Toronto was nominated for three campaigns: the Canadian Film Centre, Mini and Nike. Lowe, based in New York, was also nominated for three campaigns: HSBC, Wisk and the Museum of Sex .
Other agencies with more than one nomination include BBDO in Toronto, Goodby Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco, Fallon in Minneapolis and New York, Jager Group in Grand Rapids, Mich., and RMG David in New Delhi, India.
Obie Awards, merit honors and finalist distinctions will be named on May 24 at the 2005 OAAA National Conference and Trade Show in Chicago.
Judging, led by CP+B executive creative director Alex Bogusky, took place on Feb. 25.
Last year, CP+B took home best of show honors for an Ikea campaign that transformed billboards into price tags.
