N.Y. Shops Chase $20 Mil. Grey Goose

NEW YORK Four agencies are vying for creative duties on Grey Goose's $20 million advertising account, currently handled in-house by its distributor, Bacardi.

DeVito/Verdi, Sugartown Creative and Ogilvy & Mather, all in New York, and Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners' KB San Francisco, have reached the final round of the review, sources said. Final presentations will be held in early March, with a decision due shortly thereafter.

Sugartown Creative handles Bacardi's Bombay Sapphire account, while DeVito/Verdi created TV spots for Grey Goose before it was sold by Sidney Frank Importing Co. for $2 billion in June. KB+P currently handles Hennessey, distributed by Schieffelin & Somerset, which spent about $5 million on ads for the brand last year, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.

The Miami-based client did not return phone calls. Agencies either declined comment or could not be reached.
