NEW YORK Nurun said it has bought a small Spanish interactive agency to expand its European presence.
The agency, part of the Quebecor Group, paid approximately $2.5 million for Crazy Labs, a 37-person Web shop in Madrid. Crazy Labs clients include Procter & Gamble, Nintendo and Vodafone. The agency offers both Internet strategy and design.
The acquisition builds Nurun's capabilities in Spain, where it has a Barcelona office. Elsewhere in Europe, it has offices in Paris and Milan, Italy. It also has outposts in Atlanta and New York, with headquarters in Montreal.
"The staff at Crazy Labs shares Nurun's drive, competitive spirit and leadership, and we believe the combined teams will bolster our relationships with international clients, strengthen our internal management teams and our client portfolio," Nurun CEO Jacques-Herve Roubert said in a statement.
Roubert added the Crazy Labs addition would also speed Nurun's entry into South America.
The acquisition is the second of the year for Nurun. In January, it bought China Interactive, a Shanghai-based Web shop.
