Recent studies have shown a decline in the proportion of teenagers who are sexually active. It’s a decline, however, from a high base. One is reminded of that in reading a new study of 15-17-year-olds by Seventeen magazine and the Kaiser Family Foundation. Thirty-six percent of the kids reported having had sexual intercourse—39 percent of boys and 32 percent of girls. In fact, 19 percent of boys and 8 percent of girls said they’d done so in a “casual relationship.”
