NEW YORK–Nissan Friday unveiled its ad campaign for the 2002 Altima, touting the car’s performance, roominess, and style. It also issued a new tag: “Cure for the Common Car.”

The campaign, via AOR TBWA/Chiat/Day, Playa Del Rey, Calif., will launch in October with a series of 30-second TV spots, 10-page magazine inserts, outdoor ads, and direct marketing and Internet efforts, all carrying the new tag.

The company did not reveal cost for the campaign. Nissan spent $6.4
