WASHINGTON Nielsen Media Research, which has yet to receive full Media Rating Council accreditation for its local people meter service in four of its five markets, now also finds itself under increased pressure from the MRC in the rest of its 205 local TV markets.

Based on the MRC’s 2004 audit of Nielsen’s diary and meter-diary services, the industry’s ratings watchdog organization said Tuesday that its Television Committee has implemented a “detailed performance monitoring procedure” of Nielsen’s service during 2005.
