- Fallon Working on Campaign to Replace 'Rising'
CHICAGO--Fallon McElligott is in production on a new campaign for United Airlines to replace its unsuccessful "Rising" effort, a company official said. "We're shooting them right now," said Graham Atkinson, senior vice president of marketing for the Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based airline. The campaign will highlight differences between United and its competition, such as larger overhead bins and more comfortable seating. In October, United announced it was scrapping Fallon's 3-year-old "Rising" campaign, and asked Fallon and the airline's international shop, Young & Rubicam, New York, to come up with a new direction. Y&R is testing concepts for international use, sources said. One idea uses the words of great poets.
- Payless Pays Off for BE&P With $80 Mil. Account
CHICAGO--Payless Shoe Source is moving its $80 million creative and media account to Barkley Evergreen & Partners from Foote, Cone & Belding in Chicago without a review. The Kansas City, Mo., BE&P is agency of record for Payless subsidiary Parade of Shoes, an account worth $5 million. FCB will continue to handle Topeka, Kan.-based Payless in Canada; the agency had held the bulk of the Payless business for 18 years.

CHICAGO--Quotesmith.com, an insurance price comparison service, has handed BBDO Chicago its first dot.com account. The agency will work on a three-year, $100 million integrated marketing campaign for the company. Quotesmith handled its advertising in-house.
- Hardee's Puts Small Shop on Menu
LOS ANGELES--Hardee's Food Systems, a division of Carl's Jr. parent company CKE Restaurants, has awarded the creative portion of its $100 million national advertising account to Johnson/Ukropina Creative Marketing. The business, which had been with The Leap Partnership, Chicago, was awarded without a review. Johnson/ Ukropina, Irvine, Calif., has been the promotional and merchandising agency for Anaheim, Calif.-based Carl's Jr. for six years. Western Initiative Media, Los Angeles, handles media.
- Grey Wins Zyban, Wellbutrin from Glaxo Wellcome
NEW YORK--Grey Advertising has won the direct-to-consumer assignments for Glaxo Wellcome's Zyban and Wellbutrin prescription drugs, which have combined billings of $100 million. Grey will create print and broadcast campaigns aimed at consumers for the non-nicotine prescription medicine Zyban, and the antidepressant prescription med Wellbutrin. Zyban was previously handled by the New York and San Francisco offices of FCB Worldwide. Consumer Healthworks, New York, had handled Wellbutrin. The Media Edge handles media duties. Other Glaxo brands handled by Grey include Imitrex prescription migraine medication, Flonase nasal spray and respiratory drugs Flovent and Serevent.

ATLANTA--Three late entries have joined Labatt USA's Sol beer review for the $10-12 million account last week. According to sources, Doe-Anderson Advertising and Public Relations in Louisville, Ky.; EPB, New York; and Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis, have joined McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C.; Mullen, Wenham, Mass.; Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, New York; and Bos, Toronto. New York incumbent Amster Yard did not defend the Norwalk, Conn., client.

The client had narrowed its search to FCB, Costa Mesa, Calif., and Doner, Newport Beach, Calif. Dweck!, New York, has won creative and media duties for AddAshop.com and CustomDisc.com, which creates custom CDs or DVDs.
