NEW YORK -- New Line Cinema is pulling an April Fool's joke on Friday the 13th fans.

When users try to access information on the Web site for Jason X ( http://www.jasonx.com ), they will be greeted by an error message. Upon closer inspection, they will read, "The requested URL/jasonx.com has been mysteriously dismembered and is no longer operational on this server." Within seconds, the text will begin to "bleed" and the site will reveal maniac Jason, offering quick glimpses of the movie through his hockey mask.

The user is then redirected to the real Web site for Jason X, the tenth film in the horror series set to open April 26. The site includes a haunting introduction, a trailer, film information and special features like a screen savers and e-cards.

The April Fool's teaser and Jason X Web site were created by New Line Cinema's interactive marketing department lead by Gordon Paddison, svp of interactive marketing and business development.
