Nitrogen Marketing, the latest in a series of regional startups, launches with a handful of clients, but is still seeking office space.

"We're a little virtual," said Eric Wanta, founding partner of Nitrogen. "But we're actively looking for office space in Boston."

Wanta and his partner David Vazdauskas came together to form the agency, which focuses on helping create brand strategies for clients such as First Notice Systems, Brine and Excara.

Nitrogen offers a variety of services, including name and logo development, market positioning and tactical program development and implementation, according to the company's founders.

Previously, Vazdauskas worked at iBelong Networks, BankBoston, Lippincott & Margulies and Mercer Management Consulting.

Wanta worked with Vazdauskas at both Lippincott & Margulies and Mercer. Wanta has also served as a senior vice president at CGN Marketing & Creative Services, an advertising agency in Boston.

"Our skills overlap at times, but are also complementary," said Wanta.

As for the name, "It's a metaphor. Nitrogen is the crucial element for growth," said Wanta. "We help companies reach their growth objective."
