Created by dGWB in Irvine, Calif., the spot portrays an oafish guy seated on a couch next to a sophisticated woman. He tries to move closer to her, but she smirks and moves away. He then leaps up, turns on a record player and begins to do a little dance to the 'Yum Yum, Chili Chili' chant, introduced in an earlier ad. Pulling out a bag of Wienerschnitzel chili products, he wins over the woman's affection. She tells him, 'I love you,' while she eats. New ads in the ongoing campaign show wacky scenes from a fictional diner called 'Kruk's House of Eggs,' where Kruk and his fans hang out, eat eggs and watch baseball on TV. The campaign, which began late last month, is meant to resemble 'consecutive episodes of a sitcom about regulars at a diner where baseball and life collide,' said Peter Ligouri, the network's senior vice president of marketing. The latest execution, breaking this week, shows Kruk replacing his lounge singer the way a coach would replace an error-prone ballplayer. Another ad features a belly dancer who gives baseball hand signals.--Joan Voight------------Client: Dairy Farmers of Washington Agency: Kobasic Hadley & Co., Seattle Creative Director: Cameron Green Associate Creative Director/Art Director: Pat LeBaron Copywriter: Kevin BrownKobasic Hadley & Co. has created a new regional consumer ad for the Dairy Farmers of Washington designed to inform men that osteoporosis can afflict them as it does women. The ad points out that more than a million men in the U.S. have the bone disease and 3.5 million others are at high risk for contracting it. Calcium helps protect and strengthen bones, the ad points out. It encourages readers to consume calcium-rich dairy products such as milk, yogurt and cheese. Although the ad targets men, it also is directed at woman, said creative director Cameron Green. 'We want women readers to encourage their husbands or boyfriends to include more dairy (products) in their diet,' he said. The ad is running through next month in the Seattle Times. The Seattle shop has handled ad projects for the farmers organization for the last 18 months. It is one of a handful of local shops used by the group.
