NEW YORK – If the former Guild employees of the Daily News have their way, Mort Zuckerman’s assumption of ownership at the paper will be as bloody as the firing storm. With the counts of the 182 dismissals revealing that high percentages of blacks, Latinos, women and older employees were axed, black leaders are crying foul and joining with the union in calling a consumer and advertiser boycott of the paper. In addition, an indeterminate number of discrimination suits will be brought against the News.
