ATLANTA Neathawk Dubuque said it has merged with The Packett Group to become Neathawk Dubuque & Packett.

The independent agencies, based in Richmond and Roanoke, Va., respectively, will continue to operate in both cities. Neathawk last year began seeking new business opportunities in western Virginia, as well as Tennessee and North Carolina, the shop said. In so doing, the agency became aware of The Packett Group's presence in those markets.

Roger Neathawk, co-founder of ND, said that the merger allows both shops to become an advertising force throughout Virginia.

"Our increased capabilities allow us to provide more extensive service to our clients, with a bigger staff and more creative synergy," Neathawk said.

Susan Dubuque, co-founder at ND, said that the combined client rosters produce no account conflicts. She added that no staff positions were eliminated as a result of the merger.

Todd Foutz will remain as executive vice president and director of the Neathawk Dubuque & Packett Roanoke office.
