DETROIT Sean Neall, president of JWT’s operations here, has unexpectedly resigned from the shop, the agency confirmed. Details about his departure and replacement were not given.

Neall joined the shop in March 2003 as executive vice president, global business director, but was named co-president of the agency—along with Tom Cordner—in May of that year, following the resignation of Mike O’Malley.

The stint was Neall’s second at the WPP Group agency. He spent 13 years in various account positions at the agency from 1984 to 1997.
