Mullen Takes Bay State Tourism

BOSTON The Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism following a review has awarded its ad account to Interpublic Group’s Mullen, which already holds MOTT’s public-relations contract.

Mullen in Wenham, Mass., outpaced incumbent Connelly Partners and a joint bid from Gearon Hoffman and Small Army in the review’s final round. All of the other contenders are based in Boston and are independently owned.

The state said it would spend $3.5-5 million annually on tourism ads.

“Mullen was selected based on their outstanding strategic thinking, creative abilities and passion for the state’s success,” said Paul Sacco, executive director of MOTT, in a statement.
