BOSTON Interpublic Group’s Mullen has been tapped by General Motors Cardmember Services and Progress Energy to handle their respective sports and entertainment marketing programs, the agency said. Mullen already handles general advertising for both accounts.

Jon Hickey, senior vice president of sports and entertainment marketing at Mullen, will lead both efforts.

“General Motors Cardmember Services and Progress Energy are leading companies with powerful sports marketing affiliations,” said Hickey in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be working with them to bring a strategic, business-building approach to leveraging these assets.”
