MTV Bows Ad-Supported Video Site

NEW YORK MTV said later this month it would launch an online video site, MTV Overdrive, which would allow users to watch music videos, show clips, news and interviews.

MTV Overdrive plans to premiere with five channels, including news, music, reality TV shows, movies and a segment of the day’s highlights. MTV said it would update the news clips four times a day.

Overdrive will be ad-supported, with video spots shown after the first clip watched and every three subsequent clips.
