NEW YORK McCann Worldgroup's MRM Worldwide has lured Tribal DDB executive Paran Johar to be its executive vice president of digital strategy in North America.
In June, Johar will manage MRM's Los Angeles office, while looking to expand its Web development work into more areas of online advertising. He spent more than five years at Omnicom's Tribal DDB, where he was general manager of its Los Angeles outpost and led its Web media practice.
Reuben Hendel, CEO of MRM, said Johar would bolster the agency's digital marketing expertise and build out its Los Angeles office, which does work for Intel, Microsoft and the Army.
At Tribal DDB, Johar worked on accounts including Wells Fargo, Ameriquest and Paramount Pictures. Prior to joining the agency, he was general manager of the Los Angeles office of Groundswell, a digital marketing shop. His agency experience includes stints at Saatchi & Saatchi, Bates and BBDO.
Johar said he was attracted to MRM because it straddles both the online and offline worlds.
"All media is becoming more and more digital," he said. "An integrated offering is critical."
