NEW YORKPrime Medica appointed Joan Spivak president of its U.S. operations, which are based in New York. She most recently served as executive vice president and general manager of the New York Health practice of Edelman Public Relations. Prime Medica is based in Knutsford, England.The Coastal Group hired Steve Greenblatt as executive vice president/creative director. He will replace Richard Trask, who is retiring after five years with the New York-based company. Greenblatt most recently was vice president/creative supervisor at Digitas, where he was based in the New York office.Jack Griffin was promoted to publisher of Parade magazine. Griffin, who previously served as president of Parade, will continue to oversee advertising sales, newspaper relations, marketing, research and interactive media for the New York-based publication.Kevin Twitchell was appointed senior vice president, sales, RCA Records. He is based in New York. Twitchell most recently was senior vice president of sales at London/Sire. RCA Records is owned by New York-based BMG, the global-music division of Germany-based Bertelsmann AG.Priya Narang was elevated to the new position of associate publisher, marketing at Vogue. She formerly served as executive director, marketing services at the magazine. Vogue is published by The Condé Nast Publications, which is based in New York.In other Condé Nast news, Helen McGinley was named executive director, jewelry and watches for the Condé Nast Bridal Group. She previously served as corporate sales director responsible for luxury goods, financial, shelter and credit-card adver tising for the Condé Nast Publications corporate-sales department. The Condé Nast Bridal Group, a division of New York-based Condé Nast Publications, publishes Bride's, Modern Bride, Modern Bride Connection, and Your Prom magazines.Dennis Connaughton, a senior partner and founding member of Page, Banner, Spot & Partners in New York, was appointed general manager of the James G. Elliott Co. He will be based in the company's New York office. Page, Banner, Spot, which was launched in 2001, will operate as an affiliate of the James G. Elliott Co., and Connaughton will con tinue to manage that operation. The James G. Elliott Co. is based in Los Angeles; it also has offices in Chicago and Detroit.Fleishman-Hillard hired Rick Anderson as a senior vice president in the New York office's Corporate and Business Communications Group. He most recently was senior vice president and co-founder of the global IR consulting group at Thomson Financial. Fleishman-Hillard, based in St. Louis, is part of Omnicom Group.Ellen Shedlarz was named chief talent officer at Hill and Knowlton USA, the U.S. operations of Hill and Knowlton Inc. In the newly created position, Shedlarz, who will be a member of the U.S. Executive Committee, will manage the company's human resources staff in New York, as well as provide leadership to its human resources professionals in the U.S. and around the world, among other duties. She most recently was chief administrator officer at Mercer Delta Consulting. New York-based Hill and Knowlton is part of WPP Group. NEW JERSEYRachel Staley was appointed manager of corporate communications at CommonHealth. She formerly was a public relations account executive with DKB and Partners in Morristown. Parsippany-based CommonHealth is a WPP Group company.Ritta & Associates in Englewood hired Cesar Rubin as a print and Web designer. He previously served as a graphic designer with Royal Doulton.John Phillips was appointed senior vice president of marketing and operations at Konica Photo Imaging in Mahwah. He most recently was vice president of marketing for Space.com in New York. Konica Photo Imaging is the U.S. subsidiary of Tokyo-based Konica Corp.Block Advertising and Marketing in Verona promoted Anna Marie D'Elia to vice president and director of new accounts. She previously served as an account executive.The MWW Group made the fol lowing appointments and promotions. Kristin Bodenstedt was hired as vice president, public affairs at the Washington office; she joins the East Rutherford-based shop after two years representing business interests at the state and federal level for the Texas Association of Business. Matthew Mark Horn was appointed senior federal affairs representative at MWW's Washington office; he previously served as counsel and legislative assistant to Rep. Benjamin Gilman, R-N.Y. Jonathan Hendl was promoted to vice president in MWW's public-affairs department. He is based in East Rutherford. Hendl, who formerly served as a senior account supervisor, will continue to help manage the company's social-marketing, health-advocacy and public-health campaigns, as well as its anti-tobacco practice. Matthew Messinger rose to vice president in MWW's corporate-communications de-partment. He is based in East Rutherford. Messinger, who most recently served as a senior account supervisor, will continue to manage the Bally Total Fitness account and help grow MWW's Nutritionals and Functional Foods Practice. MWW is an independent brand of Golin/Harris International and part of the Interpublic Group. PENNSYLVANIAPrice Communications in Philadelphia named Steve Puccia chief development officer. He previously was vice president of new-business development for Deskey Associates in New York.Anderson Advertising in Sinking Spring named Roger Schein executive creative director; he formerly was creative director and copywriter at Anderson. In addition, Kim Imes was appointed project manager; she most recently served as marketing and public relations director of Patriot Bank.Ten/United, a Ten Worldwide agency, promoted Steve Smith to senior vice president/creative director.
