Bob Schrijver was appointed chief executive officer at The Food Group, a WPP Group company, effective immediately. He succeeds Don Axleroad, who becomes chairman. Schrijver previously was an executive vice president at D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, where he was responsible for corporate new business and directing D'Arcy's global intranet development, among other duties. The Food Group has offices in New York, Tampa, Fla., Chicago, Los Angeles and London.
Horizon Media named Tina Gelber a radio broadcast group manager. Gelber, who is based in the New York office, most recently was at The Media Kitchen in New York, where she served as director of radio broadcast buying. In addition, Horizon promoted two executives. Gabrielle Magnani rose to senior vice president, director of account services for the New York office; she previously was senior vice president, account management supervisor. Kimberly Aiello, who is also based in New York, was elevated to vice president, account group head; she formerly served as account management supervisor. Horizon, headquartered in New York, also has offices in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Straightline hired Steve Lawrence as executive vice president and partner, brand strategy, a newly created position. Before joining the New York-based global brand consultancy, he was president of the Branding and Design Group within True North Communications.
Liz Koman was appointed senior vice president of AMC/WE: Women's Entertainment national advertising sales at Rainbow Advertising Sales Corp. Koman, who is based in New York, formerly was senior vice president and general sales manager at USA Network. RASCO is the advertising division of Jericho-based Rainbow Media Holdings, which is a subsidiary of Cablevision Systems Corp.
BR Creative opened a New York office, located at 23 East 22nd St., and appointed Marsha Greenberg executive producer. She is based in the New York office. Greenberg most recently worked at Central European Media Enterprises, launching commercial TV stations in Eastern and Central Europe. BR Creative also has offices in Hingham and Vineyard Haven, both Massachusetts.
