NEW YORK

Ann Lemon joined The Romann Group in New York as its third creative director. Previously, she was an associate creative director at Young & Rubicam in New York, where she worked on AT&T. At The Romann Group, Lemon is working on Benihana, TVGuide.com and PeopleSoft Consulting.

Weber Shandwick, a unit of Interpublic Group, created a new management structure for its international operations. Lutz Meyer rose to president, international operations; he formerly was CEO, Europe. In his new role, Meyer, who is based in Bonn, Germany, adds management responsibilities for the firm's offices in the Asia Pacific region and South America. Emma Smith and Andrew Pirie were named co- presidents of the Asia Pacific region. Smith retains her current role as managing director in Hong Kong, as well as oversees the firm's operations in China, Taiwan and Australia. Pirie retains his role as managing director in Singapore and expands his area to include Malaysia, Thailand, India and Weber Shandwick's affiliate relationships throughout Asia Pacific. Both he and Smith, along with Takeo Nishitani, managing director of Weber Shandwick in Japan, report to Meyer. Weber Shandwick is based in New York.

Della Femina Rothschild Jeary and Partners in New York promoted Jeff Linder, senior vice president, creative director, to executive vice president. Since joining the agency in 1999, he has worked on accounts such as Marsh & McLennan, Purdue Pharma, Johnson & Johnson, and Modern Maturity and My Generation magazines.

Spa Finder made the following promotions and appointments. Josh McCarter was promoted to chief operating officer; he previously was vice president of business development. Jeff Mirman was named vice president, corporate marketing; he was formerly vice president of marketing at dreamlife.com and currently serves as a professor for NYU's online academic program. James Belzer was appointed media sales and marketing director for Spa Finder Magazine; he previously worked at Fairchild Publications, Esquire, Worth Media and the CMJ Network, among others. Diane Freeland was promoted to director, corporate gift certificates programs; she had served as corporate sales director. Spa Finder is based in New York and also has an office in San Francisco.

David McKillips was promoted to vice president, advertising, DC Comics and MAD magazine. He previously served as DC Comics and MAD's national advertising sales director. New York-based DC Comics is a division of Warner Bros., an AOL Time Warner company.

Leo Parente was named automotive category director for Parade magazine, a newly created position. He previously was a consultant for the magazine for several months; he also served as president of PDCA Marketing. Parade is based in New York.

Eric Mower and Associates named Mary Jo MacAdam media supervisor. She is based in the agency's Rochester office. MacAdam previously worked at Wyse Advertising in Cleveland. EMA also has offices in Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany, Portsmouth, N.H., and Atlanta.

Ryan Communications promoted John Fazio to account executive for the retail division. He joined the Syracuse-based agency as an account coordinator in 2000.

NEW JERSEY

Photosound Communications hired four staffers. Dawn Bock was named senior account manager; she previ ously worked as vice president of account services at Advanced Clinical Communications. Robert McBeth was appointed technical producer; he most recently served as communications specialist at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Jennifer Provini arrived as business development coordinator; she previously worked as project manager at CMP Princeton. Melissa Viparina was hired as project coordinator; she is a recent graduate of Rider University. The four new staffers are based in Photosound's Princeton office; the company's headquarters are in Stansted, England.

PFS Marketwyse named Linda Wenger vice president of communications, a newly created position. Prior to joining the Totowa-based agency, she served as vice president of market development at Brushfire in Whippany.

PENNSYLVANIA

SFGT in Philadelphia hired Joyce Rivas as director of research and brand planning. She previously was a co-founder and director of account planning at goose in Philadelphia.

Ferrare & Fleming Advertising in Plymouth Meeting named Judy Schwartz a graphic designer, working on accounts such as Aventis Environmental Science, Streamlight and Philadelphia Gear Corp. She previously served as a graphic designer for Merck & Co. in West Point. In addition, Glenn Hauler joined Ferrare & Fleming as copywriter. He formerly was a senior copywriter for Dudnyk Advertising.
