NEW YORKDeutsch in New York promoted Kathryn Higgins and Julie Levin to vice president posts. Higgins, now vice president, account director, has been with the agency since 1999 and works on Bank One. Levin, also vice president, account director, helped win Revlon's Almay business earlier this year and is respon sible for leading the account. In addition, Deutsch hired three new vice presidents, account directors: Pat rick Browne, previously a part ner at Seidel O'Neil & Part ners, who will work on Mitsubishi; Shazia Calvert-Davies, formerly at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO in London, who will work on Pfizer/Pharmacia; and Cathy Dulos, most recently partner, management supervisor at Ogilvy & Mather, who will work on Verizon SuperPages.Jeffrey Herskowitz was named chief financial officer of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. He is based in the New York office and reports to Bob Seltzer, the agency's chairman and CEO. Bill Chess, formerly chief financial officer at Ogilvy PR, was promoted to chief operating officer, a newly created position. Herskowitz was pre viously senior partner/ chief operating officer of Porter Novelli International.MRA in Syracuse hired two staffers. Kate Lewis was named an assistant account executive in the public relations department; she was previously a public relations consultant for The Kathi Ward Foundation. Heather Scholl arrived as an assistant account executive in account services; she formerly interned at e-Media in Stamford, Conn.ComGroup hired Maemalynn Nokdhes as an assistant account executive in the public relations department. She is based in the agency's Syracuse office. Prior to joining the Atlanta-based shop, Nokdhes worked at Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. NEW JERSEYGráficaGroup in Chester hired two staffers. John Baker was named senior systems engineer; he formerly was senior network engineer for Instant Auto Insurance. Colleen Easley joined as traffic coordinator in the production department; she most recently was an account coordinator for AT&T.CCA in Ridgefield Park hired five staffers. Jorge Abascal was appointed creative director; he most recently worked at Frequency Marketing. Tad Newell was named director of interactive marketing; he previously worked at companies such as NOVO Interactive, Grey Interactive and McCann-Erickson. Sten Hallock joined as an account director, working on Samsung Consumer Electronics; he formerly worked at agencies that included Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG and Ogilvy & Mather. Elissa Betterbid arrived as an account executive on Samsung Consumer Electronics; her prior experience includes stints at The Lord Group and Rowland Communications Worldwide. George Harak Jr. was appointed art director; he most recently was a senior designer at MarketSource Corp. CCA is the U.S. subsidiary of Cheil Communications. PENNSYLVANIAMARC USA/Pittsburgh made several appointments. Sara Paonessa was named new business coordinator; she previously worked at Infinity Promotions Group in Pittsburgh. T.J. Boykin arrived as Web architect; he formerly was a computer consultant working with Duquesne Light. Stacy Mrvos joined as an assistant account executive, working on FirstMerit Bank, UPMC Health System and Le-Nature's Beverages; she began at MARC as an intern earlier this year.Timmons&Co. in Doylestown named Nwamaka Nwobi Internet and interactive design specialist. She previously was Web designer at East Tennessee State University.
