TBWA Worldwide launched a new global unit that will blend the basics of good planning with a grasp of communication channels to determine how best to connect brands with consumers. TBWA\Connect, which starts in the U.S. with a core team of 20, will be led by Nick McLean, former executive media director at TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York. Assuming McLean’s former duties is Serena Duff, a co-media director who becomes media director. Separately, North American media director Monica Karo has assumed a new post: worldwide chief media officer.

Avrett Free Ginsberg in New York hired Chris Kampf as account director for the Bacardi business.
