CONNECTICUT KGA Advertising in Middletown has announced the promotion of five employees. Senior account executive Tracy Hogan has been advanced to account manager, overseeing clients such as Pilot Pen and Better Bedding. Account coordinators Deborah Wszolek and Jill Feeney have been upped to account executives. Wszolek is working with Hogan, and Feeney is a liaison with clients such as Bob's Stores and the Department of Public Utility Control. Jane Polowitzer and Lisa Sandberg have been promoted to assistant production manager. Polowitzer was a production coordinator; Sandberg was a traffic manager. KGA also has hired Amy Anton as an account coordinator to work with Feeney. Anton was a marketing assistant at the Westfarms Mall in Farmington. MASSACHUSETTS Philip Johnson Associates has named vice presidents Hugh Kennedy and Michael O'Toole partners. Kennedy, a seven-year agency veteran, will oversee the creative activity in the technology and healthcare marketing specialist's Boston and San Francisco offices. O'Toole, who has been with Philip Johnson for three years, will manage account activity in both offices. Lynn Edmonds has been appointed executive vice president of L.W. Robbins Associates in Franklin, which offers direct response fundraising services to nonprofit organizations. Edmunds was formerly executive vice president and general manager of Vantage Direct Marketing in Brookline and senior vice president and general manager of fundraising at Epsilon in Burlington. The Weber Group in Cambridge has promoted Laureen McGowan to account supervisor, Alyssa Falwell to senior account executive and Adam Cormier and Stacey Keating to assistant account executives. McGowan, formerly senior account executive, will oversee the Recording Industry Association of America and Citrix. Falwell, previously an account executive, will handle Lexmark and 3Com. Cormier, formerly an account coordinator, will work on NationsRent, Buywiz and Omtool. Keating, previously an account coordinator, will handle Lexmark. Boston-based Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos has announced the following hires: Abigail Harmon, copywriter, from BBDO in New York; Bob Pirrmann, art director, from Mullen in Wenham; Andrei Edwards, management supervisor in relationship marketing, from Quantum Plus in New York; and Dave Soto, director of graphic services in the New York office, from FCB Worldwide in New York. Irma S. Mann, Strategic Marketing in Boston has added four staff members: executive vice president for account service and strategic planning Adrienne Davis-Brody, previously marketing director for New England shopping mall developer WellsPark Group; senior account executive Alison Riley, formerly of CC and D Communications, Boston; production manager Donna Kinsler, previously with The Imagination Co., Bethel, Vt.; and account coordinator Erica Berkowitz. Aigner Associates Strategic Marketing and Public Relations in Boston has added three staff members: account executives Danielle Gianino and Kerry O'Leary, and junior account executive John White. Gianino will handle accounts such as Hoyts Cinemas and Mt. Auburn Hospital. O'Leary will work on Sportsfan.com and the Boston Center for Adult Education, among others. Both Gianino and O'Leary came from Lois Paul & Partners, Burlington. White had worked at Aigner in a support role. BBL Advertising in Acton has named Ed Vasquez director of West Coast operations. Based in the agency's San Jose, Calif., office, Vasquez is responsible for managing the Fairchild Semiconductor account and attracting new clients. Prior to joining the firm, he devised early-stage funding strategies for NaviLinks and was in charge of public and investor relations at ClariNet Communications. Smith & Jones Advertising and Marketing in Worcester has added Derek Beahn as account coordinator and Eric L'Ecuyer as production designer. Beahn previously served as an account coordinator at Davis Advertising in Worcester. L'Ecuyer was formerly a graphic artist at The Worcester Phoenix. Nicoll Public Relations of Norwood has hired Kristen Morse as a public relations assistant to work with the agency's growing client base in the consumer electronics and car audio industries. The Arsenal Mall in Watertown has named Stacy Williams marketing director. She will oversee marketing, events, public relations and customer loyalty programs such as MallRewards. She was formerly specialty leasing manager at Square One Mall in Saugus. Cambridge-based Seidler Bernstein has hired David Atteratta as public relations account manager and promoted Anne Sovie to account manager. Prior to joining Seidler Bernstein, Atteratta was the external relations manager for the Boston Living Center and a public information consultant at Action for Boston Community Development. He started his career at Ralph Nader's Public Citizen's Congress Watch in Washington, D.C. Sovie has been employed at Seidler Bernstein for the past two years and, prior to that, was in sales at Summit Technology. Sterling Hager, a technology public relations shop based in Watertown, has added Thomas A.S. Boucher as a senior account executive and Marion Williams-Bennett as account manager. Boucher was formerly district manager of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. Boucher for the last three years has obtained government and political experience while working as press secretary and aide to Bay State Sen. Richard Tisei and campaign manager for Rep. Brian Cresta. Williams-Bennett has represented SilverPlatter Information in Norwood for the past eight years, most recently serving as the company's director of U.S. distributor relations. Red Brick Design in North Chelmsford has named Jack Tremblay to its design management team. His portfolio includes work for clients such as Blue Cross & Blue Shield, National Seafoods and Kinko's. Ellen Bohlke has been named account manager. She had most recently been with Brian Keith Advertising in Chicago. Former Boston magazine executive editor Art Jahnke has been tapped to direct the Web site of CIO Communications, an International Data Group company in Framingham that publishes CIO magazine. Jahnke, who left Boston to become senior editor of CIO, will direct content development at CIO.com. NEW HAMPSHIRE Communications Management International, a Manchester marketing firm, has hired three account managers: Dianne Brindisi, from Creative Office Pavilion in Bedford; Michael MacDonald, from Ritz Associates in Boston; and Sybil Peckham, from Microscript in Danvers, Mass. RHODE ISLAND The Communication Arts Group of Providence has appointed Jennifer Ann McGirr graphic designer. McGirr graduated from Rhode Island College in 1995 and spent the next three years as an art director in the newspaper industry.
