COLORADO Barnhart/CMI, a full-service marketing, advertising and public relations firm in Denver, has made the following new hires: Chris Beatty, art director; Tim Abare, copywriter; and Kristine Garrett, account executive. The Integer Group, Denver, added Mimi Brown as account director and Scott Meyer as creative director. Maggie Chamberlin joined GD&A Public Relations in Boulder as public relations director. Denver-based Reece and Co. hired Betsy Brinkeroff as vice president/director of client services. Judith G. Allen, formerly senior vice president, marketing and programming, for Century Communications Corp., was named senior vice president, marketing strategy, for the Broadband services unit of Media One, Denver. NORTHERN CALIFORNIA The Weber Group, Palo Alto, added John M. Polivka and Michael R. Sweeney as senior vice presidents. Polivka comes from Ketchum PR, Dallas, where he was a senior vice president and general manager. Sweeney was hired from Sun Microsystems, where he was director of public relations. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Michael Orton was named chief engineer at POP Television in Santa Monica. Melissa Altergott joined Campbell-Ewald Advertising in Los Angeles as an account supervisor. Wiley & Associates in Westlake Village hired Julie Katakura as art director and Karen RePass as account executive. E! Entertainment Television in Los Angeles promoted Lisa Kaye to senior vice president, human resources. Miller Imaging, Burbank, made the following new hires: Ellen Rundle and Chris Fulton, new media producers; and Kim Townsend, Joey Carmen and Gabriel Seri, digital services technicians. Mary Kincaid was promoted to senior vice president of marketing communications at Buena Vista Home Entertainment in Burbank. Kincaid will be responsible for all public relations, event marketing, national promotions, media and research. Jim Helm was promoted to vice president and general manager of Mailing and Marketing in Orange. Blue Sky/VIFX in Los Angeles named Lee Berger to the newly created position of vice president, production/executive producer, and Deborah Giarratana to vice president of Filmed Entertainment. Buzz hired Scott Berenzweig as director of new media. Joanne Burns has joined Eyemark Entertainment in Los Angeles as vice president, market research and strategic planning. Darryl Gordon was promoted to director of marketing at San Diego-based Mail Boxes Etc. Christine A. Merrifield was named account executive at Warner Brothers Media Sales in Burbank, in the Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution division. Mediaspot in Newport Beach hired Kathy Cunningham as account supervisor/senior broadcast buyer. Michael Dula Design, an Irvine-based corporate identity and strategic marketing communications firm, promoted Melissa Luther to director of communications. Robert Chapek was promoted to senior vice president of marketing for Buena Vista Home Entertainment North America. Chapek will be based in Burbank. Kenneth C. Smith Advertising in San Diego hired Jessica Withers as senior account manager, client services, and Tanya Soule as assistant account manager, client services.
