Target Marketing & Promotions, Boston, has promoted Kathy Kolek from account coordinator to assistant account manager.
The Communications Collaborative, a Boston-based staffing firm for the marketing communications industry, has appointed Julie Ried recruitment manager. Ried had spent 13 years at the Advertising Club of Greater Boston as director of continuing educations and director of public service.
Primix Solutions, a Watertown Internet services firm, has named Michael Troiano president. Troiano was formerly CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Interactive and has served as Primix senior vice president of corporate development since January.
Smith Korch in Worcester has hired Laura Foley as a graphic designer. Most recently, she owned DesignArt Studio in Acton.
Summit Technology's board of directors has named Kate Sturgis Burnham vice president. Burnham joined the Waltham-based laser vision correction company two years ago from Reebok International, where she was head of communications for 12 years.
The Jack Morton Co., Boston, has made several hires and promotions. Promotions include: Bill Boris-Schacter from vice president and production director to vice president of operations; Lauren Larson from new-business development director to vice president of new-business development; and Christina Holmes from producer to production director. Hires include: manager of training Timothy O'Shea; account manager Lisa Sarno; producer Timothy Cook; and executive producer Janel Cuneen.
Michael James & Co., a technology marketing and media relations firm with offices in Boston and Pittsburgh, has hired Matthew Boucher as client services director. Boucher rejoins the firm after serving as media relations manager at Dragon Systems.
WCVB-TV Channel 5 has promoted sales promotion manager Amy Goode to the newly created position of manager of special projects in the Boston station's sales office.
Sterling Hager, Watertown, has added eight account coordinators to its public relations account services team. They are: George Clayton, Melissa Mirabile, Adi Kishore, Veronica Matthews, Kelly Cahill, Danielle Aguilar, Tracey Troup and Mark Palmer.

Stauch Vetromile & Mitchell, an East Providence technology public relations firm, has added account executive Jodi Hoatson and account coordinator Sarah Hood. Hoatson previously worked as assistant director of athletic communications at the University of Connecticut for the women's basketball and field hockey teams. Hood was an assistant director of sports information at Dartmouth College.
Cote & D'Ambrosio in North Kingston has hired art director Beth Ann Traina. She was previously a graphic designer for the TECO-Group, a computer-based training company in Buffalo, N.Y. Miles Dewez Henderson also has been named public relations assistant.
Jill Ryan has joined Thomas Rankin Associates of East Greenwich as an administrative assistant. She was previously assistant manager at The Limited in Warwick.
RDW Group has added Rick Piester as vice president of account services. Before joining the Providence firm, Piester was executive communications officer at Lifespan.

Jager Di Paola Kemp Design in Burlington has made a number of additions to its staff, including senior designers Tina Lauffer and Cody Hudson. Lauffer was a design director at The Attik Design's New York studio, and Hudson has worked as a freelance designer and for the Weber Group in Racine, Wis. The production department has added digital production specialist Dana Sacks, digital production assistant Amelia Hoisington, photography/Web coordinator Jesse Loomis and administrative assistant Nita Costa. Sacks was with The Garlic Press in Williston. Hoisington worked at South & Hickory Concept & Design in Rochester, N.Y. Loomis was an associate photo editor at Transworld Snowboarding and will maintain the photo database for the Burton Snowboards design team at JDK. The firm also hired account manager Yvonne Zietlow, formerly with Scott Design Communications in Philadelphia, and assistant account manager Gregory Stranz. Garin Frost has joined the shop as operations manager, and Samantha Stapleton is the new human resources director.
