Debbie Yount, an executive vice president, account management at Grey Advertising, New York, has left the agency after 19 months. Yount helped win the shop's $100 million Oracle account last year and managed Grey's technology accounts group. She has joined Tonic Software in Austin, Texas, as chief marketing officer. Established in December, Tonic specializes in Internet and Web-applications management for large businesses. Blanc & Otus in Mountain View, Calif., is Tonic's lead agency.
Pat Cunningham has been named executive vice president/group account director of Gotham in New York. She was previously an associate marketing director at Fortune magazine.
Edward Aroyan has been appointed executive vice president, account management for Bates USA, New York. Aroyan joins Bates from Manhattan Project, which he launched in early 1999.
Earle Palmer Brown, New York, has named Jack Reed chief operating officer. Reed was previously at Ogilvy & Mather, where he served as regional director of multinational clients in Europe and the Middle East. Earle Palmer Brown has also promoted Robin Tzannes to partner, group creative director. Tzannes joined the marketing-communications firm in 1993 as a copywriter.
Cynthia Davis, an account director at Merkley Newman Harty, New York, has been promoted to group account director. She continues to work on Mercedes-Benz, including factory and regional business. The agency also has hired Peter Fekula as group account director on BellSouth. Previously, he was senior vice president, group director at Lowe Lintas & Partners.
Siegelgale, a strategic e-services, branding and communications firm in New York, has named Bob Horne managing director of advertising. Most recently, he was the managing director and executive vice president of Age Wave Impact.
Lowe McAdams Healthcare, a Lowe Healthcare Worldwide company, has hired Meg Coogan as general manager. She is heading the New York agency and is responsible for integrating its six business units, including professional advertising, direct response, managed-care marketing, medical education, medical strategies and new media. Coogan previously served at Integrated Communications Corp. as executive vice president and director of account services.
ThompsonConnect, New York, has named Alice Connery president, a new position. Connery, 43, assumes duties previously held by CEO Mike Graham, who left recently to become vice president of marketing at Roundarch, a joint venture of WPP Group, Deloitte Consulting and BroadVision. In her new role, Connery reports to Peter Schweitzer, chairman of J. Walter Thompson North America. Previously, she was a senior vice president, group account director at Rapp Collins Worldwide in New York.
Amber Music, New York, has hired Jerry Krenach as senior music producer. Previously, Krenach was senior music producer at J. Walter Thompson, where his recent credits have included work for Kellogg Co., De Beers, Quest and Thermasilk.
The Ad Council, New York, has promoted four employees. Priscilla Natkins was named executive vice president, campaign management; she was formerly senior vice president. Paula Veale was appointed executive vice president, corporate communications and financial development; she previously served as senior vice president of corporate communications and financial development. Julie Dolan has been named senior vice president, financial development; she was most recently vice president, financial development. Jodi Berkowitz has been promoted to vice president, campaign director; she was previously campaign director.
Don Cataldi has been promoted to director of advertising at Smithsonian magazine, which is based in Washington, D.C. Cataldi, who is working out of the magazine's New York office, replaces Dave Cator, who has been appointed associate publisher at Smart Business. Cataldi was most recently national sales manager at Smithsonian.
The World Gold Council in New York has hired Rick Bannerot as U.S. advertising and marketing manager. Most recently, Bannerot was vice president of marketing for Jan Bell Marketing in Sunrise, Fla.
Christopher Santee has left his post as general partner at @Sanix.com to start a new media division at Len Dugow & Associates, New York. As director of new media, he will help provide fully integrated Internet-branding, marketing and advertising strategies to the firm's luxury brand, business-to-business and e-commerce clients.
Stu Gardner has been named director of logistics at Kodak Polychrome Graphics Americas' logistics facility in Victor. He was previously director of business affairs at the company's Norwalk, Conn., headquarters. Patricia Gray has been appointed supply chain manager of plates at the Victor facility. She joined the company from Agfa, Ridgefield, N.J.
Roberts Communications has promoted two staffers. Sue Remy has been named vice president/director of relationship marketing at the Rochester-based agency; she joined Roberts in 1998 to help it strengthen its leadership in relationship marketing and customer development, and she also serves on Roberts' senior management team. Kathryn Henderlong has been appointed senior account supervisor; she joined the agency in 1995 as an account executive and has worked primarily on the Xerox account to produce industry-specific marketing programs for its high-end printing systems.
Tradewell, New York, has named Ellen Jacobs senior vice president, print. Her most recent position was with DDB Worldwide, where she served as vice president and associate media director.
At GCI Group in New York, Bob Pearson has been promoted to president, GCI North America, from managing director of the North American Healthcare Practice. In addition, Ilyssa Levins has been named worldwide managing director, GCI Healthcare. She was formerly chairman and chief creative officer of GCI Healthcare and executive vice president of Grey Healthcare Group, GCI's sister company. And Ken Willis has been appointed president, GCI Latin America. He was previously responsible for North American operations and served as managing director of GCI Atlanta. He retains responsibility for Atlanta.
Elisa Feinman has been appointed vice president, creative director at DNA Creative, New York. Feinman was previously vice president, creative services at USA Networks.
Inc. magazine, New York, has named Glenn Shaevitz national advertising director. Shaevitz comes to Inc. from Playbill magazine, where he was national sales director. Inc. has also appointed Dan Drescher regional advertising manager. Drescher was most recently a sales representative at PARADE magazine.
Edelman Public Relations Worldwide has named Matthew Harrington president of its New York office. Harrington was most recently president of the firm's five-office Western region, based in San Francisco.
Langdon Cook III has been appointed executive vice president of G.S. Schwartz & Co., New York. Cook has been with the company since 1996, serving previously as senior vice president and head of the firm's technology group.
Condƒ Nast Publications, New York, has named Robert Pini director, corporate communications. Most recently, Pini was the director of communications for BrassRing. Condƒ Nast has also named Alexandra Golinkin publisher of Women's Sports & Fitness. Golinkin is returning to Condƒ Nast after consulting for online companies for a year. Before that, she was publisher of Allure from 1993-99.
Welcome Wagon, Westbury, has named Linda St. Denis senior vice president of sales. She will oversee sales operations for Welcome Wagon's Midwest division.
American Heritage magazine has named Christine Sullivan an account manager at its New York office. Previously, Sullivan was a sales representative at InSite Advertising.

WPP Group's Einson Freeman in Paramus has appointed Carl Nichols CEO and president, succeeding Jeffrey McElnea, who is leaving the company to become president of Satmark Sales Co., part of a global new media venture. Nichols had joined Einson Freeman as president 16 months ago.
The Star Group in Cherry Hill has hired David Brown as a senior vice president and partner. He arrives from Beach Advertising in Philadelphia, where until recently he had served as the president and chief operating officer. The Star Group is also opening a Philadelphia office; Brown will manage this office and serve as the management supervisor for key Philadelphia-based clients.
Patrick O'Shea has been named vice president/account director for Palio Communications in Saratoga Springs. He had previously served as a product manager for the Schering-Plough Corp.
John Backe has been elected to the 4A's FirstStates Council board, headquartered in Ardmore. Backe is president of Backe Communications, which he founded in 1997.
Roska Direct in Montgomery has added three staffers. Bill Scott has been named associate creative director. Previously, Scott was senior copywriter at Devon Direct Marketing & Advertising, Berwyn. Mark Keilbaugh, formerly executive art director for Dudnyk Advertising in Horsham, will join Roska Direct as senior art director. Tracey Rothrock has been appointed account supervisor for the agency. Rothrock was most recently account director at Kelly Waldron & Co. in Horsham.
Devon Direct Marketing & Advertising, Berwyn, has promoted Anne Batchelor to group account director on the FleetBoston Financial account. She formerly served as account director on the same account, and has been with Devon Direct since 1992.
