NEW YORK Leonard Ellis was named managing director, interactive services by New York-based public relations shop Burston-Marsteller. Ellis was the head of the interactive unit at Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG. New York-based commercial production company Shelter Films has signed director Allen Weiss. James Vander Putten joined Lieber Levett Koenig Farese Babcock, New York, as senior vice president, consulting operations. He was most recently director, direct marketing and database development at Philip Morris. Lally McFarland & Pantello Euro RSCG in New York promoted Tom Sailer to vice president, management supervisor. He had been vice president, account supervisor. Also, Lisa Miller was hired as executive vice president, director of client services. She was a corporate marketing consultant. Laura Reilly joined LM&P as senior vice president, management supervisor from Pharma Communications. Rosemarie Fitzgerald, from Torre Lazur Healthcare, came on as account supervisor. Adrienne Gawlowski, formerly of DraftWorldwide, was hired as account supervisor. Roxanne Mendoza of Falk Communications and Diane Pencek of Purdue Frederick both joined the shop as account supervisors. Dan Preniszni has been named creative director by Laderdal Medical Corp. in Wappingers Falls. The duties will be added to his responsibilities as corporate communications director. Preniszni was a vice president, associate creative director at the former Lintas Worldwide. Joseph Nardone was hired by Eric Mower and Associates in Rochester as management supervisor. He came to EMA from ICE, where he was a management supervisor working on the Frontier and Bausch & Lomb accounts. Patricia Torrey was also hired as a public relations account supervisor. She was director of marketing and communications at Onondaga Community College. Also, Panya Chittaratlert joined EMA as assistant art director. Weider Publications in New York added two to its sales staff. Mark Rizzuto was hired as national sales manager of Shape Magazine. He came from Better Homes & Gardens, where he was Eastern sales manager. Susann Tapper joined Jump as advertising director. She came to Jump from Mature Outlook, where she was advertising director. Nina Link was promoted to group president, publishing and new media at Children's Television Workshop in New York. She was senior vice president, publishing and new media. Also, J. Baxter Urist was named group president, products and international television. He was senior vice president of the product licensing and international television group. Mademoiselle promoted Gary Armstrong to director, creative services and marketing, a new post. He had been creative services director. David Keys was named director of marketing and sales of The Waldorf-Astoria and the The Waldorf Towers. Previously, he was director of marketing and sales for the Hilton New York and Towers. Richard Wilkie has been named director of corporate sales and marketing for Rodale Press in New York. He came from Meredith Publishing in New York, where he was publisher of Country America Magazine. Michael Hurley was promoted to director of custom marketing for The Hearst Group. Previously, he was vice president, custom marketing at Time Life Books. Popular Mechanics has promoted Gregg Hano to associate publisher, advertising. He had served as advertising director. Fox Family Channel, New York, has elevated Bill Abbott, John Carrozza and David McCoy to senior vice president from vice president. Abbott is responsible for Eastern sales, Carrozza oversees sales planning and McCoy will supervise national sales efforts. Also, Barbara Bekkedahl was named vice president. Previously, she was director of New York sales. Ed Georger was moved from manager, New York sales to director, New York sales. Modern Bride reported two new hires on its business team. Deborah Patton was hired as marketing director. She came from Ticketmaster's Live! magazine, where she was supervisor, marketing strategies. Debra Ballard was brought on as advertising director. Ballard came to Modern Bride from Bon Appƒtit, where she was luxury director. Susan Deal was hired as director of sales by Upstate Living in Syracuse. She had been membership recruiter for The DaVinci Project of Central New York, also in Syracuse. Dorothy Marcus has been named assistant national executive director, external relations for the YWCA, New York. She was senior partner, director of corporate communications at J. Walter Thompson, New York. Sports Illustrated reported several staff changes: Jack Bamberger and Mike Dukmejian were named sales development directors. Rick Resnick was named sales development manager. He left the advertorial projects group. Also, Alexander Levy joins SI as sales development manager. She left Money magazine as manager of strategic partnerships and new business development. Lisa Delhagen was promoted from sales development manager to co-director of sports marketing and promotions. Megan McCarthy was promoted to sports marketing manager. Michael Boas joins SI as an ad pricing manager. He was finance manager at Sports Illustrated for Kids and Inside Stuff. Ray Brown has also been hired as an ad pricing manager. The Estƒe Lauder Cos. hired Bob Salem as senior vice president, global marketing for Aveda. He came to Estƒe Lauder from L'Orƒal, where he was general manager of Redken. Also, Michelle Feeney has been named vice president, global communications for MAC, a subsidiary of Estƒe Lauder. She was the executive director of global communications for Prescriptives, Aramis and La Mer. Jim Pavlakis was promoted to vice president, business operations, Aveda. He was a senior executive in corporate human resources. Tom Petrillo has also been named senior vice president, sales and distribution management for Aveda. Petrillo was vice president, southeast regional sales manager for Clinique. Alan T. Wragg has been elevated to account executive with MuchMusic USA, Woodbury. He was an ad sales associate. Ian Keller was promoted to New York ad sales manager of U.S. News & World Report. He was account manager. Also, Jeff Britt was named international ad sales manager. Britt was account manager. Ken Wallace, publisher of Prevention magazine, has been promoted to vice president, group publisher at Rodale Press. Kate White was named editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine. She left her position as editor-in-chief of Redbook. Child, New York, has tapped Susan Spencer as senior editor. Details magazine hired Stephan Talty as film editor. He was a film critic and contributing editor at Time Out New York. NEW JERSEY Krell Advertising in Flemington promoted Patricia Storm to vice president, director of client services. She also becomes a member of the board of directors. Storm had been director of client services. Guylaine Thomas has been named business manager of The Lost Boys Consortium, a marketing, graphic design and public relations firm in Hackensack. She had been manager of the Russian Tea Room in New York. Integrated Communications in Parsippany reported several hires. Mary Fusco was tapped as art supervisor. She was vice president, creative director for JWT Specialized Communications. Yvette Butler joined Integrated as medical director. She came from Howard University. Steven Cally was hired as medical writer. He recently received his doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. Karl Sobers left Lowe McAdams Healthcare to join Integrated as a network manager. John Draper was named vice president, managed health care. He was a director of disease management for Innovative Heath Solutions and Merck Medco Managed Care. David Puckett comes to Integrated as account coordinator. Martha Cox was also hired as senior copywriter. She was a creative director with The Hal Lewis Group. PENNSYLVANIA Joella Daunys was hired by Hanson Associates in Philadelphia as executive creative director. She was senior design manager at Kraft Foods. Timothy McCarthy has joined Altus Group in Philadelphia as regional account manager for the shop's new hospitality marketing division. He has held managerial positions at Sprint Hospitality, Ritz-Carlton, Radisson Hotel and the Inn at Lambertville Station.
