TEXAS SicolaMartin, Austin, recently hired seven new staff members: vice president Tommie Huggins, formerly of Ogilvy & Mather, Houston; print production services director Jan Heaton, previously of Tocquigny Advertising & Design, Austin; public relations manager Barbara Matijevich from Goodwill Industries of Central Texas; interactive producer Charlie Nichols from Reed Sendecke in Madison, Wisc.; interactive account manager Jennifer Manning from Cramer-Krasselt, Chicago; account manager Kerri Wynn from the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce; and copywriter Jason Meeker, who was a freelancer. The Dallas office of Ryan Partnership, based in Westport, Conn., named Patti Saitow as managing director. Formerly product management director at Powerhouse Entertainment Co., Dallas, Saitow will head up new business and activities for clients Sprint and Dannon. Byrne Johnson, Dallas, hired copywriter and account executive Torre Shumate along with Kate Lucey, a production artist. Shumate previously worked with the Bagwell Agency, Dallas. Lucey was employed by Neiman Marcus Direct, also Dallas. Senior art director Jason Brantly arrived at Moroch and Associates, Dallas, from Louisiana. He will work on McDonald's, Oldsmobile and other accounts. Temerlin McClain, Irving, added marketing services director Phil Hand, print business manager Jill Welke, account executive Jennifer Fleming and account supervisors Gayle Novak and Josh Van Steenbergen. Six employees were promoted. Moving up are: associate creative director Bill Kreighbaum, group media director Steve Moynihan, account supervisor Barbara Lind, account supervisor Kristy Sahm and associate creative director Vinny Minchillo. Victoria Hegewisch joined Ornelas & Associates, Dallas, as account supervisor on the agency's GTE business. She has more than eight years experience, including working as a senior account executive with Bromley, Aguilar & Associates in San Antonio. Chris Bartik was appointed assistant production and traffic manager by R.J. Kolar Advertising and Marketing in Austin. He started at the company as an intern. Pegasus Systems, a technology solutions company in Dallas serving the hotel industry, brought in Michael Donahue as chief marketing officer. He was vice president of marketing and development for Lane Hospitality, Chicago. Alma Cantu joined the Mithoff-Lopez Hispanic Communications division of Mithoff Advertising, El Paso, as media director. W.B. Doner & Co. promoted Claire Wheeler to senior vice president and management supervisor, and Mike Morisette to vice president and account supervisor. Wheeler has been with the agency since 1983, and currently oversees the Dallas office as well as the North Texas and El Paso Ford Dealer Association accounts. Morisette was an account supervisor. Publicis/Bloom made five recent hires at its Dallas office: Account supervisor Trey Morgan was formerly national marketing director of Mazzarella's Cafƒ; assistant account executive April Beasley came over from The Richards Group, Dallas; account executive Shelley Gutzler was previously at B.A. Advertising in Dallas; copywriter Peter Fessler was a copywriter at Zuckerman Fernandes in San Francisco, while assistant account executive Mary Tyler is a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Bates Southwest, Houston, has appointed both management supervisor Katie Mullins and creative services manager Susan Simpson to vice president positions at the company. Mullins is responsible for all GTE Wireless accounts at the shop, while Simpson heads administrative management of the creative department. Peterson & Co. Graphic Design, Dallas, hired designer Dorit Suffness. She was previously with Powell Design Office, also Dallas. NourzAds, Elgin, hired Amanda White as senior graphic designer. Scientific Measurement Systems, Austin, appointed Matthew R. Gutierrez as vice president of marketing and sales. Gutierrez joined the company from ROSS Technology Inc., a majority-owned subsidiary of Fujitsu Ltd., where he was vice president of marketing. Dana Durham has opened Business Communication Works in Tyler as a principal. Brian Renaud has joined Siemens Wireless Terminals, Richardson, as advertising manager. He was formerly with M/C/C of Dallas. Metro Networks, a Houston-based provider of traffic reporting services, appointed Gary Lee vice president of development. Lee was vp general manager of Metro's Midwest region.
