COLORADO Denver-based Barnhart/CMI recently hired four new staff members: designer Aaron Alden, production artist Rowe Kimoto, assistant media buyer Duff Watson and copywriter Sandy Durkin. HAWAII The Schiller Group, Honolulu, promoted Paige Gaylord to account group director. The agency also hired Mark Doyle as a senior copywriter. Kim Brock was hired by Loomis, a Honolulu-based marketing agency, as a senior media planner/buyer. Brock will be responsible for media planning and purchasing for the Tesoro Petroleum account. NEVADA DSLV Lawlor Advertising, Las Vegas, hired Amy Helton as an account executive. Prior to accepting her new position, Helton worked at Sharp Advertising and at Shonkwiler-Marcoux Advertising. R&R Advertising, Las Vegas, promoted Dawn Maiorano to the position of media director. Maiorano's new position will give her oversight of a $70 million budget for clients including the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and gaming properties including Luxor, Excalibur and Circus Circus. NORTHERN CALIFORNIA Miller/Huber Relationship Marketing in San Francisco selected David McDermott as managing copywriter. McDermott has worked as a copywriter at J. Walter Thompson, San Francisco, Bronner Slosberg Humphrey in Boston, and New York-based Lord, Geller, Fedrico, Einstein. Parade magazine hired Mariam Maqsood as advertising sales manager of its San Francisco office. Maqsood has worked as an account manager at Natural History Magazine and Meredith Travel Group. OREGON Portland-based Turtledove Clemens hired Brooke Jones and Susan Harmala as members of its advertising team. Jones takes on the position of production manager, while Harmala is responsible for account management. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Greg Everage was selected by Complete Post as executive producer of visual effects and graphics. He will oversee the Hollywood-based shop's division of visual effects artists, animators and graphic designers. Simon Marketing, a Los Angeles-based global marketing and promotions subsidiary of Cyrk, named Kathryn E. Goodrich to the post of vice president, account director. She previously served in a senior executive role at Los Angeles based-Equity Marketing. San Diego-based VitroRobertson's creative department has added two new writers: Dan Consiglio and Ben Whan Lee. Consiglio joins from Core in St. Louis, where he worked on accounts including Monsanto, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the St. Louis Cardinals. Lee, a graduate of the Creative Circus in Atlanta, has worked at San Francisco-based Ketchum Advertising and Hoffman-Lewis as a media buyer. UTAH Salt Lake City-based Penna Powers Cutting & Haynes recently hired Alex del Toro and Megan Measom. Del Toro joins as a production assistant, while Measom has been hired as the public relations department's junior account manager. Measom previously worked at DeVries Public Relations in New York. FJCandN, a Salt Lake City advertising, marketing and public relations firm, added Steve Hanson and Jay Hill to its graphic arts department. WASHINGTON WhiteRunkle Associates announced the appointment of Annette Morin as the Seattle-based shop's art director.
