TEXAS BB&O Advertising, Dallas, promoted Rick Carnes to creative director from art director. Before joining the agency, Carnes was senior art director of the Texas Credit Union League. Meltzer & Martin Public Relations in Dallas moved former senior account executive Andy Zmugg to account supervisor. Zmugg will serve as one of two account supervisors on the Sprint Business account, handling national and local communications activities, special events and media relations. Brinton Payne was named new business coordinator at Fort Worth-based Witherspoon & Associates Advertising and Public Relations. Prior to joining the agency, Payne earned a degree in international marketing at Westminster College in Fulton, Mo. Heidi Bryant and Whitney Lake joined R.J. Kolar Advertising in Austin. Bryant was hired as media director after working at Austin agencies Bazzirk and GSD&M, and Temerlin McClain, Irving. Lake is account executive for Austin-Travis County Livestock Show and Rodeo and 3M. She was previously business manager for Cochran and Co. and worked in marketing communications for 3M. Douglas J. Babb was named senior vice president of sales and marketing for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp., Fort Worth. Babb had been senior vice president and chief of staff since September 1995. Temerlin McClain, Irving, has promoted five staff members: Bill Kreighbaum to associate creative director on the Paramount Parks account; Vinny Minchillo to associate creative director for GTE, Bell Helicopter and American Airlines business; Michelle Stinson to media supervisor on the Terminix, Bell Helicopter and Nortel Enterprise Networks accounts; Michael Tuggle to senior copywriter for GTE, Terminix and American Airlines; and Matt Anderson to account executive for J.C. Penney. Dallas Family magazine elevated Stacey Weiss to senior account representative. Previously a sales representative, Weiss will coordinate special sections and develop regional advertising programs. Marc D. Jones was named director of information technology at Web site development firm Espidotcom, Dallas. Jones was working as a consultant in software development. Kate Corrigan, formerly with Exxon Corp. public affairs in Houston, was named community relations manager at Anadarko Petroleum, also Houston. Administaff, Houston, hired Alan Dodd as public relations manager. Dodd joined from Tenneco, Houston. Susan Elmore Public Relations and Marketing in Houston recently named Sammye Renee Rusco its media relations director. ARKANSAS Heathcott Associates Advertising, Little Rock, promoted Cass Tapp to account executive and hired Meg Rains as account associate. Tapp has been with the agency since 1993 as accounting associate and administrative office manager. Rains was a media assistant at Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods, also Little Rock, prior to joining Heathcott. LOUISIANA Peter A. Mayer Advertising, New Orleans, hired traffic coordinator Jennifer Pellegrin, computer graphics specialist Talissa Verdine, account executive Sarah Hunter Lange and assistant account executive Scott Couvillon. Lange was assigned duties on the South Seas Resort account while Couvillon will work on the Delta Queen Steamboat and St. Charles Vision business. Stewart Communications, the in-house advertising and corporate communications unit of Stewart Enterprises, New Orleans, recently added Ashley Ellington, Kim Griffin and Elizabeth Vance to its staff and promoted four current employees. Moving up at the company are: Angela Cave to creative and production manager, Carol Leader to proofreader, Catherine Blades to media relations manager and Sheryl Hurst to market and media research manager. NEW MEXICO Univision 41, Albuquerque, hired Margarita Ponce as local sales manager and Delia Jauriqui Montoya as senior sales and promotions coordinator.
