She will work on the Bell Atlantic Mobile, Emhart Fastening and Scandinavian Airlines accounts. The shop also has promoted Melinda Smolkin from senior account executive to account supervisor. Smolkin will handle the Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Connecticut, New England Bank and Saint Francis Care accounts. MAINE Burgess Advertising & Associates in Portland has named Christopher Trafford art director. Trafford had worked at the shop as an intern. MASSACHUSETTS Mill House McCabe in Salem has appointed Mary Hogan vice president of operations and Lee Gallagher management supervisor. Hogan was previously account director at Field Marketing & Management, and Gallagher was district sales manager, special markets division, at Durand International. David Nobs has been named executive vice president at Cone Communications in Boston. He most recently served as senior vice president and managing director of Earle Palmer Brown Public Relations. Boston-based Lehman Millet has hired William Fruhan III as account manager. He previously was a senior account specialist at The Weber Group. DiBona Bornstein & Random in Boston has tapped Lisa Dinneen and Alison Coburn. Dinneen, who previously worked at Pro Media, will handle media buying and planning for client Sodexho Marriott Services. Coburn, who was at Conflict Management, joins as assistant account executive. Arnold Communications in Boston has appointed Scott Panella media research supervisor, Margaret Carr associate media director on the Stop & Shop Supermarkets and Ocean Spray Cranberries accounts, Cindy Steinkamp media planner on the Volkswagen of America account and Megan Stokes assistant media planner on The Hartford and McDonald's Corp. accounts. Circle Interactive, the new media subsidiary of Arnold Communications, has announced the following hires: Zoe Agnew, producer, from QUIS Communications; Doug McDermott, copywriter, from Rockpile Interactive; and John Gilmartin, account executive, from Young & Rubicam. In addition, the agency has promoted Mike Ma and Dower Phillips from designers to art directors and Jake Berry from assistant account executive to account executive. Trinity Communications in Boston has hired Merry East as account coordinator in its client services department. Donovan Group in Northborough has hired Melanie Downey as public relations specialist. She previously worked at Pegasus Satellite Television. Arrow Direct in Woburn has named Denise Angelo account service representative. She had served as trade show and promotions manager. Canton-based Kryptonite Corp. has appointed Melissa Brenton Zaniboni director of marketing communications. The company also has named Karen Rizzo director of brand management. Sterling Hager in Watertown has promoted Tracey Lempner to account manager from senior account executive and Kirstin Ratter to account executive from account coordinator. In addition, the agency has hired Susan Licciardi as account manager. Licciardi previously served as U.S. marketing manager at Keyware Technologies. VERMONT South Burlington-based Paul Kaza Associates has hired Milia Bell as assistant account executive and Emily Case as account executive, both in the agency's public relations division. Bell formerly served as marketing director of Kids Town.
